Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara: A Glimpse at the Future of Electric Mobility at BME 2025

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara: Maruti Suzuki India has finally introduced its first electric car, the e-Vitara, at the India Mobility Global Expo 2025. The company will fully launch it in March. The company claims that it will run more than 500 km on a single charge.
In the Indian market, it will compete with models like Hyundai Creta Electric, MG Windsor EV, Tata Nexon EV, and Tata Curve EV. Let’s know what special you are going to get in this car.
Battery pack and range
The company has introduced the Maruti e-Vitara with two different battery packs (49kWh and 61kWh). The larger battery pack is given a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) setup, which the company calls All Grip-E.
It has a blade cell lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack from the Chinese car company Build Your Dream (BYD). While other carmakers only export battery cells assemble them locally and use them in their vehicles, Suzuki is importing the entire battery pack from BYD.
Strong power, great performance
Talking about power, the 49kWh battery with a single motor on the front axle generates 144hp of power. While the larger 61kWh battery with a single-motor outputs up to 174hp. Both these versions generate 189Nm of torque.
However, the e-Allgrip (AWD) variant adds a 65hp motor on the rear axle. Which increases the total power output to 184hp and torque to 300Nm, which is quite high.
Plenty of modern features
Talking about the cabin of this SUV, it has a new operating system or user interface with dual screens. Which not only features a touchscreen but is also much more informative in digital dials than the existing Smart Play Pro + system.
At the rear, you get split-folding seats, adjustable headrests three-point seatbelts for all passengers, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The Maruti e-Vitara is equipped with advanced features. It has safety features like an electronic parking brake with auto hold, drive modes including ‘Trail’ for the AWD version, hill descent control, single-zone auto climate control, wireless phone charger, side and curtain airbags, heated mirrors, and Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS).
