Galaxy S27 Ultra Rumors : S Pen Feature Reportedly Removed in Upcoming Model

Galaxy S27 Ultra Rumors : Samsung’s iconic Galaxy S Ultra line may be heading for a major shake-up. Reports are swirling that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra might not feature the built-in S Pen—a tool that has become almost inseparable from the Galaxy Ultra experience.

While the S26 Ultra is expected to retain the stylus slot, things could change dramatically with the S27 model and beyond.

S Pen Could Become Optional Once Again

According to a well-known industry insider who goes by the name PandaFlashPro on X (formerly Twitter), Samsung is currently considering removing the built-in S Pen starting with the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

Instead of coming integrated into the phone body, the S Pen may go back to being a separate accessory, similar to how it was offered with the Galaxy S21 Ultra back in 2021.

This shift may disappoint long-time fans who’ve come to love the seamless experience of having the stylus right inside the device.

Still, the possibility of buying it separately may offer flexibility for users who don’t often rely on the S Pen’s features.

Samsung Already Pulling Back Stylus Features

Interestingly, signs of this transition are already visible. The upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumored to drop some Bluetooth-based features of the S Pen, such as Air Actions and remote camera controls.

In addition, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold SE reportedly won’t support the S Pen at all.

These subtle changes suggest that Samsung is slowly moving away from deep stylus integration across its flagship line.

Why Samsung Might Be Removing the Stylus Slot

There could be a practical reason behind this bold move. By removing the slot that houses the S Pen, Samsung could make room for larger batteries, better heat dissipation, or even new internal hardware.

While that sounds like a smart technical trade-off, many fans will likely feel a tinge of loss if the S Pen stops being a signature part of the Ultra experience.

Samsung Says S Pen Still Matters

In a previous interview, Annika Bizon, VP of Product and Marketing at Samsung UK, reassured users by saying, “I don’t see a space where the S Pen is not a key part of our portfolio.”

This could mean Samsung still plans to support the stylus—just not necessarily include it with every high-end model moving forward.

Back to Galaxy Note Days?

When Samsung introduced the built-in S Pen with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, many saw it as a spiritual continuation of the Galaxy Note series. Since then, every S Ultra model has carried that legacy forward.

If the stylus becomes optional again, it might feel like a return to the Note era, when users had to carry their S Pen separately in a case or pocket.

Nothing Official Yet

It’s important to note that Samsung has not confirmed any of these changes publicly. These are just leaks and rumors for now, and as always, plans could change before the Galaxy S27 Ultra sees the light of day—likely around 2027.
