MG4 EV : The Electric Hatchback That’s About to Steal the Show

MG4 EV : MG (Morris Garages) has just rolled out its latest creation—the MG4 EV hatchback—in China, and it’s turning heads already! This updated electric vehicle is a big step up from its predecessor, promising a fresh design, bigger size, and a sporty vibe that’s hard to ignore.

Set to be MG’s first global model for 2025, the MG4 EV is ready to take on the electric hatchback world with style and power. Whether you’re an EV enthusiast or just love a good-looking car, this one’s got something for you.

A Striking Exterior That Stands Out

The new MG4 EV isn’t shy about showing off its bold looks. Up front, you’ll find a sleek sloping bonnet paired with sharp LED headlights and a redesigned air intake that gives it a modern edge.

The front bumper has been revamped too, featuring vertical slats on both sides for extra flair. With sculpted fenders adding to its sporty stance, this hatchback means business.

You can choose between 16 or 17-inch alloy wheels to match your style, and the charging port sits neatly on the left front fender. Unlike many cars today with flush door handles, MG stuck with classic ones here, giving the MG4 EV a unique charm.

Around the back, new Cyberster-inspired tail lamps connect with a sleek light bar, while a roof spoiler and updated bumper amp up its powerful presence.

Roomier and More Comfortable Inside

Size matters, and the new MG4 EV delivers! It’s noticeably bigger than the older model, offering more space for everyone inside. Measuring 4,395 mm in length, 1,842 mm in width, and 1,551 mm in height, it’s grown by 108 mm longer, 6 mm wider, and 35 mm taller than the first generation.

The wheelbase stretches to 2,750 mm—an increase of 45 mm—making the cabin feel more spacious and comfy. Whether it’s a quick city drive or a longer trip, passengers will appreciate the extra room to stretch out.

Power-Packed Performance on the Road

Under the hood—or rather, the floor—the MG4 EV runs on a single electric motor pumping out 161 BHP. That’s enough to hit a top speed of 160 kph, keeping things zippy and fun.

While the previous model boasted 168 BHP, and there was once a beastly 4WD XPower variant with dual motors churning out 422 BHP, this new version sticks to a single-motor setup for now.

It’s a solid choice for anyone looking for a balance of efficiency and excitement behind the wheel.

Big Launch Plans Ahead

The new MG4 EV is gearing up for its grand debut in China this April 2025, with whispers it might steal the spotlight at the Shanghai Auto Show.

After that, it’s set to roll into Europe by the end of 2025 (Q4). While there’s no word yet on an Indian launch, its status as a global model has fans hopeful.
