Our primary duty is to the truth. We strive to:

• Verify before Publishing: We prioritize accuracy over speed. Every story must be cross-referenced with official sources or multiple independent witnesses.

• Objective Reporting: We present news as it is, without editorializing or inserting personal bias into hard news reports.

• Fairness: We provide a “right to respond” to individuals or organizations who are the subject of criticism or allegations in our reporting.

2. Sourcing and Attribution

• Attribution: We clearly state where our information comes from (e.g., official government statements, police reports, or our own ground reporters).

• Anonymous Sources: We avoid using anonymous sources unless the information is vital and the source’s safety is at risk. Such cases require approval from the Senior Editor.

• Plagiarism: Doon Horizon has a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. All content must be original or properly credited to the original news agency.

3. Use of AI, Technology & Human Verification 

To keep pace with modern digital journalism, our newsroom occasionally utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for research, data analysis, and content structuring. However, AI does not replace our journalists:

• Human-Verified Content: Every piece of content, whether agency-sourced or AI-assisted, is strictly fact-checked, edited, and 100% human-verified by our Senior Editors before publication.

• Transparent Imagery: If any synthetic media or AI-generated imagery is used for representation, it will be clearly labeled for our readers (e.g., “प्रतीकात्मक चित्र” or “AI Generated Image”) to prevent any misleading information.

4. Independence and Integrity

• Conflict of Interest: Our journalists must not report on stories where they have a personal or financial interest.

• Advertorials: Any paid or sponsored content must be clearly labeled as “Sponsored” or “Advertorial” to distinguish it from independent editorial content.

• Gifts and Favors: Our staff is prohibited from accepting gifts, payments, or special treatment in exchange for favorable coverage.

5. Specialized Content (Astrology, Health, & Lifestyle)

• Astrology: Content in our Ank Rashifal or Astrology sections is presented as cultural and traditional insights and is not to be treated as factual news or scientific advice.

• Health & Career: We provide informational content only. Our articles in these sections are not a substitute for professional medical or career counseling.

6. Corrections and Transparency

We believe in radical transparency. When a factual error is identified:

• The article is updated immediately.

• A “Correction Note” is added to the story explaining what was changed.

• For significant errors, a public clarification is issued on our social media handles.

7. Social Media & User Interaction

Our journalists are expected to maintain professional conduct on social media, ensuring their personal posts do not bring the integrity of the Doon Horizon newsroom into disrepute. We encourage healthy debate in our comments section but will remove hate speech, threats, or defamatory content.
